Sensory Profile Assessment

Sensory Profile Assessment is a tool used to evaluate an individual's sensory processing abilities. It helps to identify how a person responds to sensory stimuli in various environments, which can include:

  • Tactile (touch)

  • Auditory (hear)

  • Visual (see)

  • Olfactory (smell)

  • Gustatory (taste)

  • Vestibular (motion, head position and spatial orientation)

  • Proprioceptive inputs (body’s ability to sense its position, movement, and orientation in space)

  • Interoception (sensing internal signals from the body) â€‹

This assessment is to understand sensory preferences and challenges that may affect daily functioning and learning.

The results of a sensory profile assessment can help develop tailored interventions and strategies to support sensory integration, enhance participation in activities, and improve overall quality of life.
